Measurements for Independent Study

These sprays are intended for micro-usage. Each spray contains 1mg of 5-MeO-DMT. A “micro” amount of 5-MeO-DMT benzoate is typically around 0.5mg-1.5mg. The optimum measurement will differ depending on various factors, but we always recommend starting at the lowest amount.

What is 5-MeO-DMT?

5-MeO-DMT (5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine), also known as O-methylbufotenin or mebufotenin is a powerful psychedelic tryptamine often referred to as the ‘God Molecule’. This 5-MeO-DMT is the synthesized pure compound in benzoate form, however the chemical is also found naturally occurring in a wide variety of plants, as well as, famously, the Sonoran Desert toad or ‘Bufo Alvarius’.

The extraction of toad venom (Incilius alvarius) for ceremonial purposes began in the 1980s, gaining popularity among neo-shamanist and spiritual healing circles. Extracting 5-MeO-DMT in this way is not only harmful to the toad species and its habitat, but it’s completely unnecessary, as there is no difference in the active substance regardless of whether it is synthesised or extracted.

Not only is it unnecessary to harm toads in order to conduct research with 5-MeO-DMT, but the naturally extracted substance can also contain additional impurities that may have numerous unwanted results.

What is Benzoate and How Should I Treat it Differently? 

Benzoate is a salt form of the chemical, created by combining freebase 5-MeO-DMT with benzoic acid. Benzoate salt is more chemically stable than freebase, and best suited as a spray.

Practical experiments using benzoate take longer to show activity, and will last 2-4x longer than freebase. You can expect the average experiment time to be around 45 to 90 minutes.
